Do you want to provide your children with some of the healthiest snacks? Your children may need something to eat between meals, but you might not like the idea of giving the kids chips, cakes, doughnuts, and other unhealthy foods to eat. Luckily, there are plenty of healthy and nutritious snacks you can give to your little ones to keep their bellies full.
Fresh Apple Peanut Butter Cookies
Most kids love to eat cookies, but what if you could transform a healthy fruit into a delicious cookie? Simply slice an apple down and cover each slice with a teaspoon of peanut butter or almond butter. Place a few chocolate morsels on top of the peanut or almond butter and serve them to your children. This snack is healthy because of the fruit and the peanut or almond butter, and the chocolate morsels add even more flavor to it.
Dipped Yogurt Fruit
Grab some blueberries, raspberries, and even some fresh strawberries. Place them on top of wax paper on a baking sheet and then freeze them for an hour or two. Once these fruits are completely frozen, pull them out of the freezer and dip them into some vanilla flavored Greek yogurt. Put them back in the freezer for about 20 minutes before serving these sweet treats to your children who will absolutely love them.
Tasty fruit kabobs are a healthy and fun treat for the children to eat. You would need to place several pieces of fruit on the little skewers. You could put grapes, strawberry slices, banana chunks, and even blueberries in a row on the skewers. Serve them as is or add a drizzle of chocolate, peanut butter, and even yogurt to them for added flavor.
Healthy Fruit Chips
Instead of serving your children unhealthy chips, make your own chips for the kids using fruit. Cut down a few pieces of banana and then place them on a baking tray. Put them in the oven and allow the banana pieces to bake at 350 degrees F for about 40 minutes. Check on the bananas periodically and take them out as soon as the pieces become as crispy as you would like them.
Purchase freezer pop molds. You can usually find them at the local dollar store. Once you have your freezer pop molds, fill them with slices of fresh fruit and yogurt. Place them in the freezer for a few hours and then serve them. Who needs freezer pops that are loaded with sugar when you can give your children these natural and delicious treats?
Healthy snacks are good to give to the children. Your kids are growing and they may be hungry more often than you are at times. If you want to make sure they are eating properly between their usual breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals, these are some of the snacks you can offer to them. Providing healthy treats to the kids allows them to be healthier and make healthier decisions as they get older.
